Senior Jenna Donaldson signed her letter of intent to wrestle at Central Christian College in a celebration Monday at WHS. Donaldson has only wrestled this past year, as the only senior on the team.
School board hears updates on tennis court proposal, girls wrestling, special education
At the USD 329 monthly board meeting March 20, the board heard presentations about a proposal of new tennis courts, feedback about girls wrestling and special education services.

Three wrestlers have made the state tournament for the Chargers. Junior Alex Beggs qualified for the boys at 175. Juniors Sophia Castillo and Sienna Jones both made the state tournament in the girls first season as a team.

Girls wrestling is a new program to WHS, and it’s only existed in Kansas for a few years. Despite the local support and enthusiasm our team has enjoyed, there are some glaring differences in fairness between boys and girls at tournaments.
