Power struggle | Government class runs presidential campaign

Students in Jess Rutledge's government class are running for President!  Every year government students create posters and campaign videos like real politicians to simulate a political race. “I started doing this assignment when I first arrived at WHS eight years ago. I was looking for more projects in the senior government class and got the idea from a former professor at Kansas State,” Rutledge said.

Volleyball continues streak of postseason success

The Wabaunsee volleyball team is going to state for the fourth year in a row. 2A state takes place in Dodge City Friday and Saturday. The Chargers will take on Hillsboro, Smith Center and St. Marys Colgan in Pool 1.The Chargers will face Hillsboro on Friday at 3:30 for their first match. The top two teams from each pool will move on to the semifinals Saturday morning. 

Volleyball enters home sub-state as #2 seed

Volleyball enters the postseason with confidence, knowing there’s a shot at qualifying for a fourth-straight state tournament. The team, which finished its regular season at 29-8, is ranked seventh in 2A by the Kansas Volleyball Coaches Association. The team has the #2 seed at sub-state, which means a rematch with #7 seed St. Marys (9-25) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
