Many high school students are employed in customer service jobs. These jobs can range anywhere from working in the food industry to retail work. In these occupations, employees have to learn and practice customer service. Whether that’s helping a customer find the right shirt size or just putting on a big ol’ smile while preparing their meal.
Leading up to and following the election there has been much fuss about the minimum wage in America. President Joe Biden is expected to present his proposal Friday for raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Although there will always be negative side effects to changes like these, overall it will be extremely beneficial to millions of Americans and could even help improve the economy.
For a lot of students, part of the high school experience is working hard for a few extra dollars. The 1998 Charger Yearbook, "Sign of the Times," featured several student jobs.
