Lots of WHS students play sports, but six graduating seniors have played every season of their careers without a break. These “12-sport” athletes played every season from freshman through senior years, even though a couple of them switched sports along the way.
The boys ended a short losing streak, bouncing back Friday night against Rock Creek.
The Chargers ended the season in the sectional championship to Conway Springs, 39-14, finishing with a record of 9-2.
With success on his mind already, head coach Christian Ulsaker prepared well for his third season at Wabaunsee. “I’ve already watched every game from last year, and I’ve keyed in on our returning starters just to see what their strengths and weaknesses are,” Ulsaker said.
The Charger football season ended Friday evening with a 33-44 loss to Lyndon in regionals. Here is a by-the-numbers story of an incredible season.
The track team traveled to Lyndon on Thursday for its first meet of the season and the first meet since the 2019 season. At Lyndon, the girls finished with 48 points in fifth place, and the boys came in 6th with 35 points.
Winter sports season heats up this week with basketball at Axtell Friday and Wrestling at Mission Valley Saturday.
