Lots of WHS students play sports, but six graduating seniors have played every season of their careers without a break. These “12-sport” athletes played every season from freshman through senior years, even though a couple of them switched sports along the way.

Breiner wins national FCCLA award
FCCLA adviser Diane Breiner received a big surprise when the group went to nationals in San Diego in July. She received the 2022 Spirit of Advising Award.
Volleyball finishes 4th in home tournament
Charger volleyball hosted the Amy Schutter Invitational Tournament Saturday going 2-3, and finishing 4th out of 8 teams. “We got off to a great start against some good competition,” head coach Chris Smart said. I think we found out a lot about ourselves and some things we need to work on.
Volleyball enters home sub-state as #2 seed
Volleyball enters the postseason with confidence, knowing there’s a shot at qualifying for a fourth-straight state tournament. The team, which finished its regular season at 29-8, is ranked seventh in 2A by the Kansas Volleyball Coaches Association. The team has the #2 seed at sub-state, which means a rematch with #7 seed St. Marys (9-25) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
